Rag mats are 100% acid-free and archival. They are available in a full spectrum of colors. 8-ply rag mat boards are double thick to produce a deep, rich looking bevel. |
Paper mats are less expensive than rag boards, and are appropriate for use on replaceable posters. |

Mats can be embellished with custom colored French lines and decorative fillets, which are placed around the window opening. Both options, applied in combination or separately, can add a distinguished or antique look to the frame design. |

Similar to the French line, but more modern in its appearance is the V-Groove. A bordering line is created when a channel is cut in a top mat exposing a different colored mat underneath. The groove can be cut to any thickness. |
